Tongue-N-Cheek, like Rock-N-Roll, get it? This band was a more gussied-up and serious continuation of Leo.
The band lasted from 1977 through late 1979, played only rock covers, and specialized in high school and college dances.
Scarves, vests, ties, feathered hair. It must be 1978!
Here was our advertised song list, We knew dozens more, but this list was tailored for more serious dates than high school dances and battles of the bands.
The above 12 black-and-white shots were taken by my brother, to accompany the entry of our song "Shine On" into the Q95 Homegrown Album (WFBQ Indianapolis) contest.
This photo has a lot going for it. First, there's the homemade monitor in the foreground. Tony made these. Notice the solid "O" in "LEO"? Homemade stencils too. Notice Tony and I are both using coiled guitar cords. This was the style back then, as were the vests, a la Cheap Trick and Eddie Money. I'm playing a blonde Rickenbacker 4001 I bought new in '76 from Main Street Music in Greenfield, Indiana. The amp head is a Peavey (yuck!) and the cabinet a Heath Kit with 2 15" speakers.
On the occasion of signing with The Music Book, an Indianapolis talent agency. From left to right: Shane Schroom, me, Tony Schroom and Bill Carpenter.Tony is wearing a high school varsity football t-shirt, Bill a work shirt from the Standard Oil gas station where he worked. A photo drummer Dale recently sent me. This shows Shane's incredible perm, which brings to mind Jeff Lynne and Brian May. Dale is in the middle. For some reason they were really happy about the carton of Marlboro Lights. The guy on the right is Jeff Dannemiller, Dale's best pal from gymnastics in high school, and our unofficial roadie.
