Aside from the posthumously-named Aquarium Thought Destiny, this was my first band.
Dan Best and Tony Schroom on guitars, Shane Schroom on keyboards, Dale Glanzman on drums and me on bass. Shane, Dan and I sang lead. We all sang harmonies--and there were lots of those to go around back in the days of the Bee Gees , Kansas and ELO.
Leo rehearsed in an outbuilding that had been used as a ceramic shop at Dan Best's house on south Madison near County Line Road. This photo is in the early days. That's me in the foreground, Dan on his Lake Placid Blue Fender Duo-Sonic next to me, and Tony in the background. Dale's ride cymbal is visible behind us. I don't know about you, but I'm lovin' those painter's pant and earth shoes. The bass is a Harmony I bought from Perry Meridian High School classmate Brian Shaw.
One of LEO's first gigs. Why we would play a fairgrounds in another county, I have no idea. And I have no memory of the show. It very well may have been our first or second.
My brother took a series of promo shots for us. We look like the high school kids we were. Shane, closest to the camera, wears pegged Levi's like all the jocks. And Wallabees. I've got my earth shoes. Dan wasn't a fashion plate; here he sports overalls. No doubt we made fun of those. This must've been in the fall of 1976.

Stage left at Leo's first ever gig. Guitarists Dan and Tony were set up stage right, with Dale in between on a makeshift riser. It was a hot day, probably August 1976, at the clubhouse of a townhouse complex (Charleston South) on south Madison near where we rehearsed.
Shane and I would always switch instruments for Color My World, so that's me singing and playing piano. Shane's playing my Harmony bass through my Guild head. The Univox is plugged into my first bass amp, a Heathkit.
