I've played with this on and off group since the summer of 1997. Perhaps the magic here is that we almost never rehearse.
The core members of the group are Kevin Griffin , Jack Dawson, Nion McEvoy and me, with Louis B. Jones , Kathi Kamen Goldmark, Sam Barry, and Chris Alexander as frequent contributors. We've also had the pleasure of performing with Christina Robinson, Kitty Margolis, Carl Arnold, Sands Hall, Donn Spindt, and Alisa Peres.
Rough Draft plays very few original songs, but here's one of Kevin's songs recorded on laptop at a rehearsal where he was showing us--Jack (keyboards), Alisa Peres (percussion) and me-- the song for an upcoming performance with Alisa. Lo fi and not representative of the band, but a beautiful tune.
Here's another. This was recorded December 18th, 2009 in Berkeley at a benefit for incarcerated Buddhist monks in Burma. Several vocalists and a pianist joined us for this rendition of the Band's I Shall Be Released.

Also at the 2004 McEvoy Ranch Olive Harvest Festival. The young woman is 16-year old talent Christina Robinson. I got a big kick out of this gig because George Schultz was in the audience when I sang a Viet Nam-era protest song.
A recent Rough Draft show, at Land of medicine Buddha in Soquel, CA. The setting, a redwood grove, was spectacular. Here we were just getting started, hence the navel-gazing.
